California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
Users under 13 are not permitted to use PageGenius AI. Users ages 13–17 are subject to simplified data collection with no behavioral advertising. No data from minor accounts is sold under any circumstances.
We collect: email, name, role (student/teacher), and usage/subscription data, which are stored in our secure cloud database. Your uploaded images, scanned documents, and generated study materials (flashcards, tests, summaries, your library) are stored locally in your browser on your own device — they are not uploaded to or retained in a central PageGenius database. During AI processing, file content is transmitted securely to our backend and the relevant AI provider solely to complete that request, and is not retained afterward.
Account data (email, name, role, subscription, and usage records) is retained as long as your account is active and deleted within 90 days of account cancellation. Your scanned files and generated study materials live only in your browser's local storage on your device — PageGenius does not hold a separate copy, so clearing your browser data or switching devices will remove that content permanently on our end as well as yours.
We use the following third-party services: AI processing providers (for text extraction, summarization, and other generation features) that receive your file content transiently, only to fulfill your request, and do not retain it afterward; our application platform (Base44), for account authentication, subscription management, and momentarily holding a file while it's handed off to an AI provider for processing; and Google, for sign-in (OAuth) and, only if you choose to connect it, optional Google Drive export.
You have the right to access, correct, and delete your data at any time. Use the "Delete My Account" button in Settings or contact us directly.
We use only essential cookies/local session data required for signing you in and keeping you signed in. PageGenius does not currently use analytics, tracking, or advertising cookies. If that changes in the future, this policy will be updated and, where required, we'll ask for your consent before enabling them.
